A FIRE crew was called to two car fires less than an hour apart.

Ashington is a town in Northumberland, England, with a population of around 28,000 people.
, at around 1.45am on Saturday.

At 2.30am a fire crew was called to another car fire in Sea Crest Road, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea.

A spokesman for Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service is the statutory fire and rescue service which covers the area of Northumberland, England.

Fire stations are located in:
  • Allendale
  • Alnwick
  • Amble
  • Ashington
  • Belford
  • Bellingham
  • Berwick upon Tweed
 said: "A motor vehicle on the footpath was well alight.

"Two hose reels were used to put it out."

Police officers were also called to attend the second fire.
