Carry on giving, please.

A GREAT many organisations, charities, community groups and individuals seeking to help others will anxiously await confirmation of the Northern Rock Foundation's future funding.

But a sizeable number will be thinking that there is no good reason why a bank rescued by the taxpayer cannot continue making its much valued contribution to good causes in the region.

If bailed out banks can gift 'bonuses' to individual employees, the Rock's foundation can continue granting aid to groups who really need the help.
