Carry on eating! Adam serves up a treat to hungry Teesside movie fans.

FILM fans can enjoy Breakfast at Tiffany's with a slice of American Pie at Teesside's first ever movie cafe.

Flix Movie Cafe in Hartlepool offers customers the chance to view cult and classic films while enjoying a bite to eat and a drink.

Each evening will feature a different genre catering to every taste, whether you enjoy the odd spoonful of horror or a sprinkle of spaghetti western spaghetti Western

Tuesdays combine a film and cinema quiz on the same night while Wednesdays celebrate the Eighties with films such as Breakfast Club and Porky's.

On Thursday, a cult movie like A Clockwork Orange will be shown, Friday is for the ladies For the Ladies is a extended play by Machine Gun Fellatio. The extended play was released in 2002. Track listing

The movie cafe was the brainchild of Hartlepool businessman Adam Bouabda.

The 28-year-old who lives in the town and also runs the Casa del Mar tapas restaurant on the Marina, told how he came up with the idea.

"The first time I ever saw anything similar to this was about 10 years ago," he said.

"The Cornerhouse in Middlesbrough had stand-up comedy on with drinks and finger food and I wondered if there was anywhere that offered films in a restaurant setting.

"I did some research and could find nowhere like it in the North-east.

"There were cinema bars but nothing I could find which incorporated food."

The movie cafe on Church Square features two 120 inch screens, a 106 inch screen and a plasma set behind the bar.

Customers can enjoy a daytime meal while watching big screen entertainment such as Friends or Only Fools and Horses Only Fools and Horses is a British television sitcom, created and written by John Sullivan, and made and broadcast by the BBC. Seven series were originally broadcast in the UK between 1981 and 1991, with sporadic Christmas specials until 2003.  and there are child-friendly films on during happy hour.

The cinema restaurant will offer full waiter service and there will also be weekend matinees.

Adam said: "It's been described as a restaurant that shows films but also a cinema that serves food.

"Whatever it is, Flix is a place where diners will able to revisit their favourite films, have a bite to eat and enjoy a drink with family and friends.

"It's been open a couple of weeks now and it's going really well. Everyone who has been absolutely loves it and a lot have made repeat bookings." * For details visit www.flix.me.uk and for listings of films call the movie cafe on 01429 863300.
