Carroll Touch sponsors 1996 NewMedia INVISION Awards; Annual event honors multimedia achievements and innovations.


ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 1996--Carroll Touch, a leading provider of touch screens and systems designed for the unique requirements of the human-machine interface, is helping to shape the future of the multimedia industry with its 1996 sponsorship of the NewMedia INVISION Awards, an annual industry program that recognizes technical excellence and creativity in multimedia applications, including kiosks, CD-ROMs and online sites.

Award winners are selected within multiple categories by a panel of creative, business, high technology and multimedia experts. General categories are Entertainment and Edutainment Educational material that is also entertaining.

This year, 30 new online categories have been added in recognition of the growing importance of multimedia presence on the World Wide Web.

Attendees of COMDEX/Spring, June 3-6 in Chicago, will have the opportunity to test many of the NewMedia INVISION Award winning applications at the Playland product showcase. Playland is located on the COMDEX The former, premier computer trade show in the U.S. Although it grew into an end user event, it was originally created for dealers and distributors (it was the COMputer Dealers EXposition).  show floor and gives attendees "hands-on" experience with the products.

The winning applications are demonstrated by their developers. The special ceremony on June 3 honoring awards of excellence and best of show will be featured on the Jones Computer Network and Mind Extension University.
