ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 1996--Carroll James 1854-1907.
British-born American physician noted for his research on yellow fever. In 1900 he deliberately infected himself with the disease for experimental purposes.
Touch, a leader in the design, development and manufacture of touch products, has been selected as a finalist in the 1996 AV Video Platinum Awards.

The awards are given annually in recognition of technological innovation in providing products for the creative video producer.

Carroll Touch's Modular Infrared Touch Frame was nominated in the interactive multimedia category. According to AV Video contributor Mark Magel of Digital United (New York), Carroll Touch touchscreens are rugged and offer an easy-to-use, high-quality display for multimedia display and information systems, making them an ideal choice for video and multimedia presentation systems.

"Carroll Touch infrared touchscreens let multimedia producers get the highest quality image across to the viewer," said Magel. "They don't cut down on light transmission, giving a bright screen that's ideal for applications such as multimedia kiosks. They're also rugged enough to stand up to being placed in public places and being used by dozens of people every day."

Winners of the awards will be announced in the March issue of AV Video which will be distributed at the National Association of Broadcasters conference in Las Vegas April 15-18.

"We are pleased to have been selected as a finalist for this award," said David Martin, general manager of Carroll Touch. "We believe we build the industry's best touch interface products and it is gratifying to be recognized by key influencers in the industry."

AV Video created the Platinum Awards in 1993 to recognize advanced technology in equipment and materials used by video producers. With 70,000 subscribers, AV Video has the largest readership of video professionals working in multimedia production. The magazine is in its 17th year and is headquartered White Plains, N.Y.
