), today announced the appointment of Bill Brown as President of its Asia Pacific Operations (APO apo- 1 A prefix indicating a protein component in a conjugated molecule–eg, apoferritin, apolipoprotein, see there 2 Apolipoprotein, see there ).

Brown replaces Geraud Darnis who was recently appointed President, United Technologies Power Solutions. Brown will retain his role as Executive Vice President Japan Operations and Representative Director Toshiba Carrier Corporation until a successor is named.

Asia Pacific is a region of dynamic growth and opportunity for Carrier. The diverse markets of APO are driven by favorable climate, growing populations and strong economies. And Carrier holds a leadership position in most of these markets.

 Toshiba Carrier Corporation Japan (TCCJ), the highest-ranking Carrier position in the Toshiba Carrier alliance. Prior to his TCCJ role, Brown was President, Carrier Latin America Operations (LAO) from 1989 to 1999. During his tenure in LAO, Brown and his team achieved tremendous growth and market leadership for Carrier and its brands throughout the region.
