), today announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire A.T. Distributors, an independent distributor of Carrier residential and light commercial products headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., effective Dec. 31, 2000.

A.T. Distributors has been distributing Carrier, Bryant and Payne HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) In the home or small office with a handful of computers, HVAC is more for human comfort than the machines. In large datacenters, a humidity-free room with a steady, cool temperature is essential for the trouble-free  equipment since 1957. A.T. sells primarily to dealers and contractors with distribution and sales locations servicing portions of western (Memphis) Tennessee, eastern Arkansas and northern Mississippi. The 94-employee company has 2000 projected revenues of approximately $40 million.
