Carrier Corporation Completes Acquisition of Linde Refrigeration.

FARMINGTON,Conn. -- Carrier Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTX), today announced the completion of the acquisition of Linde Refrigeration, formerly a division of Linde AG, for approximately 325 million euros (or approx. $US390 million) including estimated debt upon closing

Linde Refrigeration, with annual sales of approximately 866 million euros (approx. $US1 billion), employs 6,300 people and leads in European commercial refrigeration. It is headquartered in Cologne, Germany. Products include refrigerated display cases and subsystems, and industrial and commercial refrigeration systems. Linde's manufacturing facilities and sales networks throughout Europe, Asia and South America will be part of Carrier's existing operations in the respective markets.

"Building on our complementary geographical footprints and product portfolios, we will be able to better satisfy the requirements of global customers."

A tentative agreement on the acquisition between Carrier and Linde AG was first announced on March 15 this year.

Carrier Corporation, headquartered in Farmington, Connecticut, is the world's largest company providing heating, air conditioning and refrigeration solutions, with operations in 172 countries. It is part of United Technologies, a Hartford, Connecticut-based provider of a broad range of high-technology products and support services to the aerospace and building systems industries.
