Carpet group releases annual report.* During the CarpetAmerica Recovery Effort's (CARE) Fourth Annual Conference the group reported that 224.6 million pounds of post-consumer carpet was diverted from landfills last year, a 97 percent increase from the previous year. In 2005, reported recycling and diversion of post-consumer carpet doubled from the previous year, bringing the total amount of carpet diverted from landfill to 483.7 million pounds since CARE began tracking the information in 2002.
