Carpenter Technology announces dividend increase and 2-for-1 stock split.READING, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 10, 1995--Carpenter Technology Corp.'s (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :CRS CRS Course CRS Certified Residential Specialist (real estate certification) CRS Central Reservation System CRS Can't Remember Stuff (polite form) CRS Cost Reduction Strategy CRS Consumer Relations Specialist ) board of directors Thursday announced a 10 percent increase in the quarterly dividend to 66 cents/share from 60 cents/share on a pre-split basis payable Sept. 7, to shareholders of record on Aug. 22. In an additional action, the board of directors announced a 2-for-1 stock split of the corporation's common shares to be effected by the distribution of one additional share for each share presently outstanding. The additional shares will be distributed on Sept. 15, to shareholders of record on Sept. 1. Robert W. Cardy, chairman, president and chief executive officer, stated, "The dividend increase reflects the strong earnings performance of the company and management's confidence in the outlook for Carpenter. The stock split is being done to place our stock price more in line with that of other companies on the New York Stock Exchange New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) World's largest marketplace for securities.
