SOUTHFIELD, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 2001

Carolyn A. Filak recently joined the law firm of Raymond & Prokop, P.C. as an associate in the practice area of commercial litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right. The act or process of bringing a lawsuit in and of itself; a judicial contest; any dispute.

Prior to earning her law degree from Wayne State University Law School The Law School offers a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in day, night, and combined programs. It also offers a number of dual degrees, including the J.D./M.B.A. combined program, and J.D./M.A. programs in economics, history, dispute resolution, and political science, among others.  in May 2001, Ms. Filak interned with Judge Gerald E. Rosen of the U.S. District Court in Detroit. She also previously served as an intern in Washington, D.C. with The White House Domestic Policy Council.

During law school, Ms. Filak was a member of Wayne State's National Team for Moot Court A method of teaching law and legal skills that requires students to analyze and argue both sides of a hypothetical legal issue using procedures modeled after those employed in state and federal appellate courts.  2000-2001, which placed as a semi-finalist in Regional Competition.
