The Parve Cantorum choir is made up of former choristers of Coventry Cathedral's Chapterhouse Choir. The acclaimed Warwick Orchestral Winds was formed 11 years ago, and last year the ensemble picked up a gold award at the National Concert Band Festival and was then invited to take part in the National Concert Band Festival finals earlier this year where it picked up a bronze award Several organizations issue awards with this name:
David Burton, president of the Coventry Lions, said: "This year we have made the appeal our main fundraising beneficiary and as 2003 is the year of our 40th anniversary we decided to do something additional to the Donkey Derby at the Memorial Park to raise funds. "We felt Christmas was a time of giving and this event gives the citizens of Coventry the chance to contribute to the appeal while having a good night out." Pauline Rainbow, Coventry Myton Hospice appeal manager, said: "The Lions are doing an absolutely sterling job in putting this concert together. It would be lovely if the people of Coventry could support us." Tickets are pounds 5, with every penny going to the appeal. They will become available at the end of this month at Coventry Myton Hospice shops or by calling 024 7641 9450, 024 7641 0300 or the office at Myton Hospice on 01926 838812.
