With ticketless travel, customers can book a flight through the airline's reservations department by using a major credit card, receive a confirmation number, and board the aircraft -- all without ever holding a paper ticket. The entire transaction is done electronically. Passengers can receive a transaction receipt and itinerary by mail or fax, at their request. To receive a boarding pass at the airport, passengers will be required to present a picture I.D. Ticketless travel benefits the passenger by eliminating the need to obtain a paper ticket.
