Carnegie Learning's Bridge to Algebra Meets California Learning Resource Network Review Criteria.

PITTSBURGH -- Carnegie Learning, Inc., a leading publisher of research-based math curricula for middle school and high school students, announced today that the Company's Bridge to Algebra curricula has been successfully reviewed and approved by the California Learning Resource Network (CLRN) for legal and social content compliance as well as standards alignment.

CLRN (www.clrn.org) is one of three state educational technology services in California and provides educators with a "one-stop" resource for critical information needed for the selection of supplemental electronic learning resources aligned to the California State Board of Education academic content standards. California Educators with specific content experience are selected through an application process to act as reviewers once they have completed a rigorous training program.

Carnegie Learning's math curricula are based on more than two decades of cognitive science research at Carnegie Mellon University studying how students think, learn, and apply new knowledge in mathematics. The instructional format prescribes three days a week of classroom instruction and two days a week in a teacher-supervised software lab environment. The Cognitive Tutor[R] software was developed around an artificial intelligence model that identifies weaknesses in each individual student's mastery of mathematical concepts, customizes prompts to focus on areas where the student is struggling, and sends the student to new problems addressing those specific concepts.
