Carnegie Hall's Real Estate Council to host October event.

Concert hall in New York, N.Y., U.S. It was endowed by the industrialist Andrew Carnegie at the insistence of the conductor Walter Damrosch (1862–1950).
 Real Estate Council, a select group of real estate industry leaders who provide annual funding for Carnegie Hall's music and education initiatives, will host a fall event on Tuesday, October 13, 2009.

The evening at Carnegie Hall begins with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at 6:30 p.m. in the Shorin Club Room, followed by dinner in the Rohatyn Room, and concludes with a concert by The Philadelphia Orchestra Philadelphia Orchestra, founded 1900 by Fritz Scheel, who was its conductor until his death in 1907. Scheel was followed by Karl Pohlig (1907–12). Under the leadership (1912–38) of Leopold Stokowski, the orchestra became one of the world's finest  in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. Chief Conductor and Artistic Adviser, Charles Dutoit leads the orchestra in a program that features pianist Yuja Wang in Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 as well as Barber's Adagio for Strings "Adagio for Strings" is a work for string orchestra, arranged by the American composer Samuel Barber from his first string quartet. Current members of the Carnegie Hall Real Estate Council include Earle S. Altman, Kyle Warner Blackmon, David Brause, Louis S. Brause, Stephanie Goto, Robert Kaufman, Stephen J. Meringoff, Lester S. Morse Jr., Burton Resnick, Jonathan Resnick, Aby Rosen, Gregg Schenker, Larry Silverstein, and Benjamin Winter among others.

Real estate industry leaders first rallied to provide significant support for the restoration of Carnegie Hall in 1986. In celebration of Carnegie Hall's Centennial season in 1991, the Board of Trustees board of trustees Politics The posse of thugs who oversee an institution's administration. See Board of directors.  inaugurated the Real Estate Council, with the mission to provide ongoing support to the Annual Fund for maintenance of this landmark building and the artistic and educational programming for which it stands.

Funds raised by the Real Estate Council via membership also support The Weill Music Institute (WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) A programming interface (API) in Windows that allows system and network devices to be configured and managed. WMI is based on WBEM, which stores all definitions in a CIM database. ) at Carnegie Hall.
