Carnation warns parents against use of incorrectly labeled Carnation Alsoy Concentrate soy formula, 13 fl. oz.


GLENDALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 20, 1996--Carnation is voluntarily recalling one production code of Carnation carnation: see pink.

The affected product is packaged in cans with the statement "Do Not Add Water," in English and French, printed on the top of the lid. Product label directions are accurate and clearly state in several places that water must be added.

Carnation has received several inquiries concerning the lid but is not aware of any consumers who have fed the product to their infants undiluted. As a precaution and to eliminate any confusion, all affected product is currently being removed from store shelves. No other Carnation Alsoy Concentrate or Carnation infant formula products are affected.

Consumers who have purchased cans of Carnation Alsoy Concentrate with the incorrect statement on the lid should not use the product and should call Carnation Nutritional Products toll free at 800/543-3112.
