Carmike Cinemas Announces Construction Plans for New State-of-the-Art Theatre in Morristown, Tennessee.

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Carmike Cinemas, Inc. (NASDAQ: CKEC) today announced that CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. (NYSE: CBL) plans to begin construction on a major expansion and new mall location of a theatre at College Square in Morristown, Tennessee. The new College Square 12 will feature a dozen state-of-the-art theatres. Construction project is set to begin in 2008 with completion expected for spring 2009.

The new College Square 12 will have state-of-the-art stadium-style seating auditoriums, digital projection and digital sound, wall-to-wall screens and high-back plush seating with retractable armrests equipped with cupholders. The new theatre will also include an expanded lobby, concession areas and box office. The current nine-screen theatre will remain open during the new construction. The space formerly occupied by the theatre will be developed into specialty stores to be announced in the near future.
