Carlsbad Technology Giant Optimal Integrated Solutions Acquires Vortex Data Systems' Network Integration Division.CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 1997--Premier network integration company, Optimal Integrated Solutions, Monday announced it has acquired Vortex Data Systems' network systems integration department. Vortex was one of the oldest and largest network integration service companies in San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay. with integration sales totaling more than $7,000,000 in fiscal 1997. Approximately fifteen Vortex employees have joined the Optimal team, including eight network engineers and three sales representatives. This acquisition allows Optimal to expand its services and customer-base throughout San Diego County and to increase its workforce to more than 100 full-time employees, with 60 full-time network engineers. Optimal's annual revenues for calendar 1997 will be approximately $22 million and are anticipated to grow to $45 million in 1998. Optimal is currently ranked as the 17th fastest growing private company with headquarters in San Diego County and has achieved 500 percent revenue growth since 1995.
