Carlos Ponce Latin Pop Crossover Sensation Again Reaches No. 1.

EMI Latin EMI Latin is a subsidiary of EMI which focuses on Latin American music. In 1989, Jose Behar, the former head of the Sony Latin Music division, signed Selena with EMI Latin, a record company founded by Behar. Selena became EMI Latin's first artist.  recording artist Carlos Ponce Carlos Armando Ponce, Jr. (b. September 4 1972, Santurce, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican actor, singer, composer and TV personality, known as simply Carlos Ponce. He currently stars in the Telemundo serial Dame Chocolate (Give Me Chocolate).  has taken the Latin/Pop crossover scene by storm as his second single "Decir Adios"(Say Goodbye) reaches No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks The Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart is the most important music chart for Spanish language singles in the American music market. It was established by the magazine in the 1970s, when music labels and Billboard  for the week of September 26.

This is the follow-up to the No. 1 romantic ballad "Rezo"(Pray). Both singles are from Carlos' debut self-titled Romantic/Soulful/Latin/Rock/Pop Spanish language album which was produced by 5 time Grammy award winning writer/producer Emilio Estefan Jr. and remains on top of Billboard's Latin Top 50 since it's release in June. The album features 10 new songs 3 that were written by Carlos including "Rezo" and the upbeat, dance flavored "Moreno" which is a unique fusion of Latin, Moroccan and Brazilian rhythms.

Hosting Control for 3 years also earned Carlos 2 PREMIOS ACE AWARDS (equivalent to the American ACE AWARDS), in 1996 and 1997 for Outstanding Host. In 1997 the International Premios Eres Award for Best New Actor was given to Carlos for his role as Renato in the soap "Sentimientos Ajenos" which has aired in over 50 countries.

Carlos will be appearing for the first time in an American/English acting role on Beverly Hills 90210, November 11, 1998.
