) announced today that its subsidiary, Carlisle Tire & Wheel Company, sold its Surfacing Products Division to a private company that will manufacture and sell bonded rubber crumb surfacing products for use on playgrounds and other recreational applications.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Rick McKinnish, President of Carlisle Tire & Wheel Company, stated "the sale of the Surfacing Products Division will enhance our focus on our core specialty tire and wheel business, which continues to grow at record levels."

Carlisle is a diversified diversified (di·verˑ·s  manufacturer of products serving four major markets: construction materials, automotive components, industrial components and general industry.
