CARL Vounning climbs on board the world's first performance tricycle for paraplegics.

The 42-year-old was unable to ride his motorbike after breaking his back in a climbing accident 20 years ago.

The 1150cc Martin Conquest will be star of the show at the Mobility Roadshow at Ingliston, near Edinburgh, which is being held today and tomorrow.

Carl, who is the trike's tester, said: "It has changed my life. To be back out on the road after all these years is terrific.

"This is one of the most important developments in motoring for the disabled in the past 10 years."

The Conquest has a BMWmotorbike front and aluminium rear and will sell for around pounds 21,000.
