Carl Fischer announces new appointments.


Barry O'Neal recently was appointed director of concert music for Carl Fischer, where he formerly was director of promotion.

In his new position, O'Neal is responsible for all aspects of the development of the concert music catalog at Carl Fischer, including repertoire rentals, performance growth and composer promotion.

O'Neal earned a B.A. degree in music composition from Boston University Boston University, at Boston, Mass.; coeducational; founded 1839, chartered 1869, first baccalaureate granted 1871. It is composed of 16 schools and colleges. . He began his career in music publishing The contractual relationship between a songwriter or music composer and a music publisher, whereby the writer assigns part or all of his or her music copyrights to the publisher in exchange for the publisher's commercial exploitation of the music.  in 1964 with Associated Music Publishers (AMP), becoming educational director and manager of AMP after G. Schirmer acquired the company. He rose to the level of vice president of Schirmer. O'Neal joined Carl Fischer in 1985.

Alfred R. Fredel recently was appointed marketing manager for Carl Fischer, in charge of all marketing efforts including press relations, ad placement, brochure development, direct mail and website management.

He holds an M.B.A. degree with emphasis in media management from Metropolitan College of New York The Metropolitan College of New York is a college located at 431 Canal Street in New York City.
