Carl E. Svedberg, Jr.


SUN CITY CENTER, FL Carl E. Svedberg, Jr., 79, of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of Charlton, died Tuesday, Feb. 17th, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Catherine R. (McMahon) Svedberg; a son, Shayne A. Svedberg and his wife Marianne of Worcester; three daughters, Kathleen Bastien of Southbridge, Carlene A. Simpson and her husband Marc of Columbia, SC and Christine Altiery and her husband James of Dudley; four brothers, Lloyd Svedberg of Port St. Lucie St. Lucie may refer to:

He was born in Auburn the son of Carl E. and Gladys (Whitcomb) Svedberg. He was a 1948 graduate of Millbury High School Millbury Memorial Junior/Senior High School is a school in Millbury, Massachusetts that serves 936 students in grades 7 through 12. It was founded in 1851, and was originally located in a building on Millbiry's Elm Street, which now houses the Mary Elizabeth McGrath Educational . He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation. .

Carl worked as a sonic inspector for the Wyman Gordon Co. for 35 years before retiring in 1991. He was a long time member of the Charlton Baptist Church and was also a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Sun City Center, FL. He was a member of the VFW See Video for Windows.  post 7916 in Woodbridge, VA.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21st, at 10:00 a.m in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with Pastor A. Theodore Ekholm and Pastor Stephen Nordbye presiding. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Friday, Feb. 20th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
