Preliminary sales figures for January indicate that Carfax, Inc. (www.carfaxonline.com), the Internet's leading provider of vehicle history information, has surpassed 13,000 dealer subscribers.

This benchmark comes just four months after the introduction of Carfax Certified Cars, a program aimed at bringing sellers and buyers together, less than a year after Carfax launched a $20-million advertising campaign to reach consumers and auto dealers, and a scant three months after Carfax reached 12,000 dealer subscribers. Carfax just reached the milestone of 10,000 dealer subscribers in 1999. Based on monthly figures, Carfax could reach 20,000 dealer subscribers in as little as 18 months.
