Welcome to the first Careers In Ag supplement to Agri Marketing magazine. Agri Marketing is the trade publication that highlights the events, changes and happenings within the agriculture, food and fiber industries. Despite the current consolidation within the industry and the tough economy, opportunities exist for companies and individuals to succeed. The demand for the efficient production and distribution of food and fiber products will only increase. And the demand for skilled, innovative and dedicated people will, too.

One of the more remarkable aspects of the ag industry is the wide variety of career opportunities available. And when you expand the definition of agriculture to include the food and fiber industries, the range of opportunities is even greater. Most people outside of the industry assume that jobs in ag consist of being involved in production or working close to the land. But it is much more than that. Although one of the pleasant benefits of this industry is always having a connection to "the land," career paths of individuals take them in many different directions and to many different levels within the industry.

Agri Marketing will be providing insight into many of these career opportunities on an ongoing basis by talking with current industry leaders. Our hope is to capture the sense of accomplishment and success one can achieve at various levels in agriculture by hearing it directly from these individuals.
