Careers are taking off.


EIGHTEEN young men and women from the North-West are today beginning careers with the Royal Air Force.

James Browne (1793-April 1841), Scottish man of letters, was born at Whitefield, Perthshire.
, 19, from Prenton, will train to be an aircraft maintenance mechanic. He joined the air cadets at 13.

He said: "The main thing I'll miss is my Mum's cooking - it's awesome, but I couldn't wait to do this."
