Wanna learn all about cool careers in the government, medicine, TV? Or even find out if your dream job is actually your idea of a nightmare? Well, the Job Shadow Coalition, in partnership with Career Corner TV, allows students nationwide to follow professionals throughout the year, beginning on annual Groundhog Job Shadow Day (Feb. 4). This year's initiative is ultra-cool because kids can score a mentor right from home. With a new virtual-shadow online option, future head honchos can use their computers to access Bay in the Life videos with interactive Q&A's, get tons of up-to-date info, and even tap links to help understand career options and resources. "Many young people do not have access to shadowing experiences. Through Virtual Job Shadowing, these students will be able to shadow a variety of workplace mentors--from nurses to business executives to a U.S. senator," says the program's executive director Stuart Shapiro.
