) today announced it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Briarcliffe College Briarcliffe College consists of a pair of for-profit career colleges in Bethpage and Patchogue on Long Island, New York. They offer Associate's or Bachelor's degree programs in a variety of areas. . Briarcliffe College has campuses in Bethpage and Patchogue, New York Patchogue ('pach-og, 'pach-äg) is a village in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 11,919 at the 2000 census.

The village is named after the Patchogue Indians, who once inhabited the area.
