Caredata.com Begins Trading Under New Stock Symbol; -"CDCM" Symbolizes Growth and Opportunities for Creating Value in Digital Healthcare Marketplace-.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 1999--

Caredata.com (Nasdaq/NM:CDCM CDCM Consortium to Distribute Computer Music
CDCM Coastal Defense Cruise Missile
), a leader in the digital healthcare marketplace, begins trading today under its new stock symbol "CDCM" on the Nasdaq National Market. The changing of the Company's stock symbol reaffirms Caredata.com's commitment to being a leader in the digital healthcare marketplace.

"Caredata.com and CDCM are far more than name changes for us," stated Mark A. Kaiser, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "They embody em·bod·y

1. To give a bodily form to; incarnate.

2. To represent in bodily or material form:
the continuing transformation of our company and its many products and services into one leading brand. This signifies the increasing importance of the Internet as a distribution channel and as a means for expanding relationships with our user communities."

Citing a recent Harris Survey that revealed 60 million people (an estimated 68 percent of the adults online) searched for healthcare information on the Internet in 1998, Kaiser noted, "Caredata.com now has three primary offerings that help businesses and consumers make better decisions - proprietary healthcare-related content, healthcare research and analysis tools, and Internet technology for information access. By integrating these components and making them readily accessible via the Internet, we are responding to a clear market need for independent, reliable information and the kinds of tools necessary for proactive health management by consumers and business.

"We are creating more powerful solutions for our existing communities of users and leveraging the Caredata.com brand to create new growth opportunities that would not have been possible without the Internet," said Kaiser. "These opportunities include expansion into new markets for our information products and mining the richness of the Internet as a content source to create new products."

Already a key information provider to physicians, healthcare recruiters, hospital and managed care executives and the pharmaceutical community, Caredata.com is now using the Web to provide an expanded environment for communication, interaction and knowledge exchange with these communities. Kaiser continued, "For years, we have utilized user group meetings and product focus groups to foster a sense of community and interact with our customers. With the ability of the Internet, we can now create a space for these groups that will offer a variety of information streams and resources that can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As we move into the consumer space, Caredata.com will offer access to valuable information about key healthcare topics such as physician qualifications and consumer satisfaction with health plans and pharmacies."

New Consumer Satisfaction Information on Caredata.com Site

An early example of the emerging strategy and information exchange possibilities is the addition of the Company's annual Health Plan Satisfaction Survey to the Caredata.com site. "For the first time, we can now make available information about what consumers need to know about their healthcare. This introductory slice of information ranks HMOs and other plans by Overall Satisfaction, Customer Service and Hospital Quality. Consumers can also post feedback regarding their satisfaction with their own plan on Caredata.com," said Kaiser.

The results of the study are based on original research conducted by Caredata.com. The survey is comprised of responses from nearly 50,000 health plan members to 138 questions. In addition to determining members' satisfaction, the full survey reports on important issues including the perceived adequacy of care for 25 medical conditions See carpal tunnel syndrome, computer vision syndrome, dry eyes and deep vein thrombosis.  including allergy allergy, hypersensitive reaction of the body tissues of certain individuals to certain substances that, in similar amounts and circumstances, are innocuous to other persons.
