CareScience Signs New and Expanded Agreements for Its Clinical Performance Improvement and Public Reporting Solutions.

PHILADELPHIA -- Second Quarter Agreements for CareScience Software and Services will Help Leading Healthcare Organizations Improve Clinical Outcomes, Reduce Costs and Meet Public Reporting Requirements

CareScience, a division of Quovadx, Inc. (NASDAQ:QVDX) providing care management, clinical analysis and clinical quality improvement solutions, today announced the completion of several new agreements, and expanded and renewed relationships with existing customers in the second quarter of 2006. These agreements deliver a range of software and services, including the Division's flagship quality management product, the CareScience(TM) Quality Manager solution, the CareScience(TM) Standards of Care solution and CareScience(TM) Professional Services and Consulting.

During the quarter, CareScience signed contracts with both new and existing customers. New agreements were signed with HealthPartners, the largest consumer-governed, non-profit healthcare organization in the nation, providing health plan, care delivery and integrated health services, Centura Health, a 12-hospital system based in Englewood, Colorado and Atlantic Health System, one of the state of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare systems.

HealthPartners will use CareScience technology and consultation services for analysis of its patient population data to better understand complications and risk factors associated with specific diseases and patient groups. CareScience analytics and risk adjusted methodologies will help HealthPartners create, guide, measure and adjust preventive guidelines that impact its wellness programs and disease management initiatives. Centura Health leveraged CareScience Professional Services and Consulting to assess and recommend methods to automate the collection of publicly reported quality measurements; augmenting a planned system-wide EMR implementation. Atlantic Health System will pilot the use of CareScience Quality Manager technology and analytics to identify and prioritize clinical process improvement opportunities that impact quality of care, efficiencies and patient safety in various areas of its organization.

Contract expansions with existing customers in the quarter included the multi-year renewal of an agreement with Temple University Health System, PA, for the CareScience Quality Manager product, as well as extended access to the CareScience Professional Services team and consulting services. CareScience also completed an expansion of a long-time relationship with Ascension Health to provide extended Core Measures and Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP) reporting capabilities and to serve as the health system's vendor of choice for external data reporting requirements to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other external agencies.
