CareQuest University to Introduce Its New Advanced Education Curriculum for Advisors At the Society of Actuaries Long Term Care Conference in Las Vegas.

Recognizing a substantial lack of long-term care education among advisors and consumers, Robert Pearson, president of CareQuest University, is introducing a new curriculum for 2003.

"Many issues need to be addressed including our responsibility to educate advisors about all the realties of long-term care. This is the focus of CareQuest University and its new, advanced professional education series," said Pearson.

Next Week, Pearson is addressing The Society of Actuaries (SOA) at its Long Term Care conference in Las Vegas. Pearson is first on the docket Monday Morning (1/27) and will introduce the Long Term Care Group Specialist (LTCGS) program developed at CareQuest University. "We need an army of well-trained people to help consumers and employers with Long-Term Care issues," he said. "Our program offers the only designation geared toward employer groups and associations. Our session is expected to be well attended according to SOA leadership."

CareQuest University has been offering Long Term Care Group Specialist education since 1999. CareQuest University focuses on the unique demands inherent in the group marketplace. It also caters to people aiming to be industry leaders, as long-term care planning and long-term care financing becomes part of the vernacular of the Baby Boomers, their parents and the Generations NEXT.

According to Pearson, the Long Term Care Group Specialist education is also unique because of its specialized appeal to a widely-diverse audience. "It's more than just another sales course that teaches product benefits and sales techniques to insurance agents," he said. "This is a course for the professional financial planner, long-term care insurance advisor, benefit consultant and all insurance company personnel in long-term care."

It was also designed to appeal to HR professionals, nurses, care administrators, actuaries, accountants, lawyers and doctors, "even the Media will have an interest as long-term care becomes part of our social fabric," Pearson added.

Incorporated into the curriculum are long-term care objectives of: 1) sharing CareQuest experiences in bringing long-term care solutions to employer and association groups; 2) mitigating long-term care costs by keeping patients independent, and served by community programs as long as possible through Community Care Resourcing and; 3) helping professional advisors reduce costly, preventable care situations through a simple process called: Periodic Preventive Assessments.
