TORONTO -- CardioComm Solutions, Inc. (TSX-V: EKG EKG: see electrocardiography. ) announced today shipment of their Global ECG Management System (GEMS) software as part of a multi-year North American licensing agreement signed last November with General Electric's Healthcare (GEHC GEHC General Electric Healthcare ) division, and a subsequent OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  agreement signed this past summer. Focusing on optimal cardiac arrhythmia management, CardioComm's GEMS is being rebranded as GE's non-invasive arrhythmia arrhythmia (ārĭth`mēə), disturbance in the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat. Various arrhythmias can be symptoms of serious heart disorders; however, they are usually of no medical significance except in the presence of  analysis and diagnostic data management systems called MARS Event Station and MARS Event Station Lite.

Etienne Grima, CFO/COO for CardioComm Solutions, said "Our GEMS software is highly compatible with GE's hardware and with the majority of loop recorders in the marketplace, providing a high level of flexibility and stability to the cardiac arrhythmia management environment. We are proud of our collaboration with GEHC and look forward to the next three years as we continue to confirm our products' reliability and ease of use. Initial sales began this summer and Q4 2009 sales forecasts are anticipated to be brisk."
