Cardiff Devils are stung by a late scoring sprint from Hull.

HULL Stingrays stunned Cardiff Devils on Saturday by storming back from 3-0 down to force overtime in this Elite League ice hockey match on Humberside.

Stingrays pulled a goal back with less than five minutes left and then netted twice in the last 30 seconds after pulling goalie Curtis Cruickshank.

Devils, missing two import forwards with captain Brad Voth injured and Marc Fulton arriving yesterday, took time to recover their composure.

But they saw out overtime and then earned a three win in four league matches when Tyson Teplitsky netted during the penalty shoot-out.

Mike Prpich, Jason Silverthorn and Jay Latulippe had put Cardiff well on top, but they failed to see out the last five minutes.

Konstantin Kalmikov scored Hull's first before Jeff Glowa left the Devils in disarray by netting twice in an amazing 19-second spell.

Cardiff net minder Peter Aubry thwarted the Stingrays' penalty takers and Teplitsky fired the puck past Cruickshank to earn the victory, leaving the Devils with two points and Hull one.
