Cardiac nurses' study day.

A one-day symposium, hosted by the Cardiac Nurses' Section committee, was held in Christchurch at the end of August, attended by nurses from around New Zealand. The title "Latest trends and research" was chosen to allow presenters, who were mainly nurses, to present on topical issues relating to clinical practice. This also fitted with the section's core philosophy of promoting networking and collegial discussion.

A founding section member, Diane Penney, delivered an opening speech on the importance of nurses presenting to nurses in such a forum. Topics covered by the nurse presenters included patient perspectives following coronary artery bypass Coronary artery bypass
