Cardiac Science Inc. (Nasdaq:DFIB) announced today that it has significantly enhanced its global sales and marketing team with the addition of four new senior managers.

Kurt Lemvigh was appointed president, international operations Internal Operations (I.O., IO or I/O) is a fictional American Intelligence Agency in Wildstorm comics. In the newly created position of president, international operations, Lemvigh will assume overall responsibility for revenue generation, new business development and management of the international distribution network. In addition, Lemvigh will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day operations at its Copenhagen, Denmark facility, which is being established as Cardiac Science's international headquarters for sales and service.

Lemvigh has 17 years of cardiology-related marketing and management experience in the European market. Previously, Lemvigh served as general manager of GE Medical Systems, Northern Europe, where he was responsible for GE's cardiology product line, including, cardiac MRI 1. Prior to GE's acquisition of Marquette, Lemvigh served as Marquette-Hellige's cardiology marketing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and prior to that, he was the general manager of Kivex, A/S, a Danish medical distribution company.

Rice has been appointed director of worldwide marketing and will be responsible for managing Cardiac Science's global marketing team, and for developing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  relationships with other medical device companies seeking to integrate Cardiac Science's technology into their product lines. Rice has extensive experience in the defibrillation business: from 1986 to 1998, Rice held several sales and marketing positions at Medtronic Physio-Control Corp., a leading manufacturer of external cardiac defibrillators.

During his 12 years at Physio-Control, Rice served as a product manager, sales representative and district service manager. Immediately prior to joining Cardiac Science, Rice was the vice president of marketing at Tegris Corp.

As managing director, Latin America, Bolzani will be responsible for managing Cardiac Science's network of distributors in South America South America, fourth largest continent (1991 est. pop. 299,150,000), c.6,880,000 sq mi (17,819,000 sq km), the southern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. , Central America Central America, narrow, southernmost region (c.202,200 sq mi/523,698 sq km) of North America, linked to South America at Colombia. It separates the Caribbean from the Pacific. , Mexico and the Caribbean. From 1976 to 2001, Bolzani was the director of Latin America and the Caribbean operations at Medtronic Physio-Control. During his 25 years at Physio-Control, he promoted the use of external defibrillators both in the hospital and in the pre-hospital setting and has worked closely with leading physicians in the Latin American medical community to introduce A.E.D.'s and the concept of public access defibrillation.

Gotlib will serve as director of U.S. hospital sales and will be responsible for leading Cardiac Science's 15 person hospital sales force as well as seven clinical education managers. Gotlib has more than 20 years of experience in selling cardiology devices and health-care technology to hospitals and physicians in the United States.
