Cardiac Control Systems Inc. names Haimovich to board of directors; hires vice presidents of Sales and Regulatory Affairs; and director of Corporate Development.

PALM COAST, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 1994--Cardiac Control Systems Inc. (Bulletin Board:CDCS) announced Tuesday that it has named a new member to its board of directors and has added three individuals to its management team.

Each has expertise and experience in key disciplines important both in helping the company capitalize on its unique single lead technology as well as continuing the company's effort to reposition itself for future growth.

Larry Haimovich, president of Haimovich Medical Technology Consultants, a San Francisco-based healthcare consulting firm, has joined the board of directors of CCS. Haimovich Medical Technology Consultants specializes in the Medical Device and Technology Industry, with a particular emphasis on Cardiology related areas and serves numerous medical device companies, venture capital firms, investment groups, and investment bankers.

Prior to forming his firm in 1990, Haimovich spent over 20 years as a healthcare industry analyst for a number of leading boutique research firms and financial institutions such as Furman Selz, Sutro & Co., and Wells Fargo Investment Advisors. He is a regular contributor to various industry newsletters and is currently a director of two privately owned medical device companies.

In addition, Robert Miller has joined CCS as vice president of Sales. He brings over 21 years of sales and sales management experience in the Medical Industry, with the last 14 dedicated to the pacemaker market. Before joining CCS, Miller had a successful career in sales, sales management and training with Telectronics Pacing Systems, one of the leading pacemaker manufacturers in the industry.

In addition to building his sales group to one of the largest and most profitable in the company, he was also responsible for overseeing field education and training of all Telectronics' representatives.

Prior to his efforts with Telectronics, Miller also spent several years as a representative of Cardiac Pacemakers Inc., a division of Eli Lilly Inc. and another leader in this industry.

Also from Telectronics Pacing Systems Inc., Virginia Cavanagh has joined CCS as director of Corporate and Business Development. In her previous position as manager of Education at Telectronics, she was responsible for sales education of field sales personnel, and product training on both existing and investigational devices. She also has extensive experience in developing accredited continuing education programs for clinicians on the use and implantation of pacemakers.

Terry McMahon has been named CCS's vice president of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. He brings 15 years of experience in managing regulatory affairs and clinical research in the healthcare and energy industries. Prior to joining CCS, Terry was with XOMED-TREACE Inc. as a manager, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs. Previously, he has served in a variety of managerial positions in Regulatory and Technical Affairs for companies involved in medical device implants.
