CardScan Software Developers Kit Now Available From Corex Technologies.

Business/Technology Editors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 2000

Corex Technologies Corporation has announced the release of its new CardScan Software Developers Kit (SDK (Software Developer's Kit) See developer's toolkit and Windows SDK.

SDK - Software Developers Kit (or "Software Development Kit").
) Version 5, a software upgrade that enables other companies to integrate the award-winning CardScan business card scanning system into their existing applications. The new SDK fully supports the newest CardScan 500 scanner and delivers new functions for reading and writing CardScan database files.

Said Jonathan Stern, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Corex, "CardScan provides incredible add-on functionality to other data collection and lead capture applications. In addition, there is clearly a demonstrated need for business card scanning that extends beyond the traditional model of desktop scanning. We are delighted to offer a product that is specifically designed to support developers in their efforts to deliver new applications."

      Potential applications for the CardScan SDK generally fall into
three broad categories:

- the scanning of business cards directly into trade show
    registration systems, lead capture programs, stand-alone kiosks
    that offer services or information to the public, and other
    similar data gathering or surveying applications;

- the scanning of business cards directly into sales automation or
    contact manager applications;

- the scanning of other business card-size documents to capture bar
    codes or other information.

Says Fred Tremblay, CEO of Los Angeles-based NewLeads Software, "Our trade show leads system reads magstripe cards, 2D bar-coded badges, and Smartcards. At the trade shows and meetings that don't utilize high-tech badges, CardScan SDK is really invaluable. Attendees' business cards get quickly scanned through the CardScan business card scanner and the leads get qualified right away. Corex Technologies' SDK has helped us refine our products to more closely match the needs of our customers."

CardScan SDK can be used to develop 32-bit applications that run on Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs.
