Card reader.
HID Global of Irvine, California, has launched a new version of its
versatile RP40 multiCLASS reader. It now supports Indala 125 kHz
proximity and AWID, in addition to HID proximity. New enhancements
combine 125 kHz proximity and 13.56 MHz contactless smart card and
reader technologies into a single reader, providing support for users
upgrading to smart cards while using multiple card technologies. The
reader is available in multiple compatibility configurations. A keypad
model for dual-factor authentication will be available soon. The U.S.
General Services Administration has approved the reader for its FIPS 201
approved products list. 1208
