High Definition Printers from Fargo Electronics, Inc., of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, can now print vivid, over-the-edge images on CR-100 oversized plastic identification badges. These cards are 42 percent larger than standard credit cards. The larger cards are preferred by many airports, schools, government agencies, hospitals, and corporations because they are identified more quickly. The HDP710 (single-sided) and HDP720 (double-sided) printers apply images onto a special film, which is then fused onto the card through heat and pressure. The cards are virtually tamperproof because the graphics and text are sealed within the surface of the card, between the film and the blank card.
