Captus Networks Corp., a leading provider of Denial of Services (DoS) network security appliances, today announced the appointment of Stephen R. Schramke as president and chief executive officer. Schramke brings to Captus more than 15 years of experience in managing technology companies. In his new role, Schramke will drive strategic corporate direction and operations and launch a new line of products into the Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) market.

Prior to Captus, Schramke was founder, president and CEO of The Ticket Exchange.com, Inc. where he led the creation of one of the largest online networks of sports and concert ticket exchanges. Before founding The Ticket Exchange.com, he served as co-founder, executive vice president for Aptimus, Inc. (Nasdaq:APTM), an e-commerce company. At Aptimus, Schramke directed sales, engineering, operations, and customer service for the company and was responsible for managing the successful completion of over three million online consumer transactions along with managing the rapid growth of the company, culminating in an IPO. Schramke also served as founder, president and CEO for Wireless Financial Services, Inc. (acquired by AT&T Wireless), manager for the Business Consulting Group for Arthur Andersen & Co, LLC, and program manager for Digital Systems International, Inc. (acquired by Lucent). In addition he has consulted in the sale of several companies and has been awarded three patents. Schramke holds a B.A. from Evergreen State College and a M.B.A. from The University of Washington.
