Captus Networks Corp., a leading provider of Denial of Services (DoS) network security appliances, today announced the appointment of Stephen R. Schramke as president and chief executive officer. Schramke brings to Captus more than 15 years of experience in managing technology companies. In his new role, Schramke will drive strategic corporate direction and operations and launch a new line of products into the Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) market.

"Customers are telling us that the real challenge with intrusion prevention is more than security. It's more than keeping the bad traffic out, or the 'black list' approach. It's keeping the good traffic flowing -- the 'white list' approach -- with minimum operating costs operating costs nplgastos mpl operacionales . Today's solutions are human intensive and don't scale to manage this problem," said Schramke. "Captus' innovative security technology, based on three years and $10 million in research and development, uniquely addresses these customer needs and attracted me to the company. I'm excited to be part of this dynamic team in a growing market."

"Captus is at an important stage of its corporate development. The company led the DoS protection technology evolution with the first product that not only identified, but also stopped, attacks in seconds. Now we have an opportunity to bring the same level of proactive security to the broader intrusion prevention space," said Dave Mock, general partner for GMG GMG Giornata Mondiale della Gioventù (Italian: World Youth Day)
