Captured on CCTV... the terrifying moment armed robbers stormed church social club.

THIS is the moment when gunmen stormed a Childwall church social club and threatened to shoot its elderly customers.

As reported in yesterday's Daily Post, three masked men were caught on CCTV as they raided Our Lady of Assumption in Childwall and confronted pensioners late on Tuesday evening.

Manageress Lynn Goulding has already told how she had tried to fight off the gang as a gun was pointed around the lounge area and fired twice.

But now she hopes releasing the pictures, which are receiving national exposure, will help catch the raiders.

The gang lay in wait outside the social club in Hartsbourne Avenue at 1am on Tuesday as customers finished their drinks.

One 83-year-old woman was pounced on as she left and dragged back into the main hall.

Two men brandished guns and all wore balaclavas, screaming at staff: "Give us the cash."
