Captiva Software Corp. (NASDAQ:CPTV), a leading provider of input management solutions, today announced it will hold its first financial and technology analyst day event on Thursday, June 10. The event will provide attendees an in-depth look into Captiva's initiatives to expand its leadership position of the enterprise input management (EIM) segment in the enterprise content management (ECM) market. Captiva's President and CEO, Reynolds C. Bish, will present the company's market positioning and growth strategies.

The event will be held at the Warrenton, Va. headquarters of Captiva customer Imaging Acceptance Corp. (IAC). John Rome, IAC founder and vice chairman and a document imaging pioneer, will give an overview of IAC's operations and lead a tour of the facility. IAC is Captiva's first customer to implement the Digital Mailroom(TM), an automated classification and routing system for digitized images of inbound mail and electronic communications. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the solution in action -- capturing, classifying and routing mail for the national campaign to re-elect the President and Vice President of the United States.

IAC is accepting and processing all mail for the campaign, such as correspondence, donations and volunteer information. The mail, numbering 5,000 to 20,000 pieces per day, is opened in a biologically secure "safe room" and is then scanned and converted to electronic content. Employing advanced optical character recognition (OCR) and text classification technology, the Digital Mailroom then "reads" the digitized documents to determine their nature, captures the senders' and recipients' contact information and routes the documents within IAC for any necessary data correction or completion. The Digital Mailroom also monitors the incoming mail for possible threats, which can be reviewed and processed as needed by IAC personnel. Finally, the Digital Mailroom is utilized to deliver digitized versions of the mail back to the appropriate party at the campaign via a private-network Web site for quick processing and response by campaign personnel.

Captiva's Digital Mailroom offers a single point of entry for an entity's incoming mail, faxes, e-mail and electronic communications streams. The system automatically recognizes and routes digitized images of documents and data to the appropriate department or person for processing while concurrently providing full auditing and tracking capabilities.
