Captiva Software Establishes German Subsidiary; Recruits veteran data capture executive to lead expansion in central Europe.

DMS Trade Show (Filenet Stand No. 614)--Captiva Software Corporation, the market leader in enterprise information capture technology, today announces the opening of their new central European Headquarters near Freiburg, Germany. Captiva Software GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary, will focus on business development in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Eastern Europe. This announcement closely follows Captiva's recent expansion into the UK, Australia, the Netherlands, and Japan, demonstrating the company's aggressive international growth strategy and Captiva's commitment to worldwide full-service sales and support.

Captiva has recruited veteran executive Gunter Sandmann to lead the German operation as Managing Director. Sandmann, with over 10 years experience in the data capture and forms processing industries, had previously acted as Business Development Manager for Capture Products at SER, a large German-based document management vendor. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of Improx GmbH, establishing the Austrian-based company as one of the premier forms processing technology providers in the region.

Sandmann's first objective will be to build Captiva's local market presence by hiring staff, establishing a system integrator channel and offering Captiva's products, professional services and technical support to both end users and system integrators.
