BLEU, labelled as potentially "a horse of a lifetime" by owner William Rucker, scooted away with the Christie's Foxhunter and became the first horse since Rushing Wild in 1992 to take the prize straight from the point-to-point field.

The seven-year-old will not be with his current trainer, Sheila Crow, next season as Rucker and his wife Angela will be sending him to Evan Williams Evan Williams is the name of several people. They include:
  • Evan Williams, an American brand of bourbon whiskey.
  • Evan Williams, an Australian politician.
  • Evan Williams, an Australian reporter.
  • Evan Williams, an entrepreneur and blogger.
, who also trains State Of Play and High Chimes for them.

Rucker said: "I'm not sure where the horse will go next but Sheila fancies a crack at the Horse and Hound hound, classification used by breeders and kennel clubs to designate dogs bred to hunt animals. Most of the dogs in this group hunt by scent, their quarry ranging from such large game as bear or elk to small game and vermin; ground scenters trail slowly with the head  Cup at Stratford in June and after a summer break he will go into training with Evan next autumn."

Cappa Bleu was purchased by the Ruckers last September in Ireland and is lucky to be racing at all as he suffered a bad bout of travel sickness when being ferried over to his new home.

Rucker added: "He nearly died and if it had not been for our head groom, Michelle Burton, rushing him to the vets when he got here I'm sure he would no longer be with us. Luckily he pulled through and he could be the horse of a lifetime."

Williams is excited by the prospect of taking charge of Cappa Bleu, saying: "It's great to hear that I will be training him as I was impressed by that performance. State Of Play won the Hennessy and I would think this horse will follow much the same route."

Richard Burton was always travelling well on the winner not far off the pace before delivering him to the front at the second-last fence and forging 12 lengths clear of Turthen, with Baby Run close behind in third.

Charlie Fox, trainer of the runner-up, said: "It looked like we did not get home but I'm thrilled to bits with his performance as I think the winner could be very good. We may well go to Aintree for their version of this race next month."
