Notes:
The currency market, also known as the Foreign Exchange market, is the largest financial market in the world, with a daily average volume of over US $1 trillion.
 6 per share will be effectuated on June 23, 2000.

As of June 23, 2000 the Nedlloyd shares will be listed at the new face value of EUR 1 per share. The share price on June 23 at opening of trading will be "ex capital repayment." The number of shares outstanding will remain equal.

The record date to be entitled to the capital repayment has been fixed at June 22, 2000, after close of trading. As of June 23, 2000 the option series of Nedlloyd will be adjusted accordingly by Amsterdam Exchanges N.V. Amsterdam Exchanges will make further announcements on June 22, 2000, after close of trading.

On June 16 and 17, 2000 Nedlloyd published an advertisement with further details in the main Dutch newspapers, the Financial Times and Das Handelsblatt.

The total capital repayment amounts to EUR 140 million. The applied technique

will not lead to dividend withholding taxes being payable by Nedlloyd or to additional taxation being payable by private shareholders who reside in the Netherlands.
