Capital Media Group raises $16 million and announces a strategic relationship.


LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 1996--Capital Media Group Limited, the independent media holding group ("Capital Media" or "the company"), announced that its private placement (the "private placement"), which closed on Feb. 9, 1996, has raised gross proceeds (prior to payment of commission and expenses) in the amount of $16 million.

The company also announced the formation of a strategic relationship with the French media group AB Productions ("ABP 1. (networking) ABP - Alternating bit protocol.

"), which holds a 12.6 percent stake in Capital Media after having subscribed for $4 million in the private placement.

As a result of its investment in Capital Media, ABP has been granted the right to designate des·ig·nate

The transaction with ABP was arranged through Unimedia, a company with which Capital Media is exploring and evaluating opportunities in the multimedia market. ABP holds an equity stake in Unimedia.
