BUDAPEST--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 2001

LaserBit Communications Corporation, an American-British-Hungarian joint venture developing free-space optical telecommunications equipment, announces closure of a $6 million second round financing from international investors Intel Capital, Sandler Capital and 3TS Venture Partners AG Fund Advisor to the Technologieholding Central and Eastern European Fund. PriceWaterhouse Coopers corporate finance group advised LaserBit on the transaction.

LaserBit develops, manufactures and markets wireless, free-space laser-based voice, data and video transmission systems and telecommunication equipment for optical networks (E1/T1, E2/T2, E3/T3 copper to fiber converters and multiplexers). Target customers are telecommunication companies needing high band-width data transfer, such as Internet Service Providers Internet service provider (ISP)
