) announced today that for the second year in a row it has been included in the Fortune Small Business 100 list, which highlights America's fastest growing small public companies for the year 2002. Capital Corp of the West was positioned with a ranking of 33 on the list of 100 companies in terms of stock performance, revenue and earnings growth.

This is Capital Corp of the West's second year on the list, which was inaugurated in 2001. Capital Corp moved up 51 places on the list -- from 84th last year to 33rd this year -- and is one of only 22 companies to have made the list in both years. In another key ranking, this year Capital Corp was listed at the 17th position in three-year total return (51% annual rate) compared to being listed at the 76th position (20.5% annual rate) last year.
