Capella University Faculty Member Named President-Elect of the Texas Mental Health Counselors Association.


Dr. Christopher Dr. John R. He will serve a three-year term: one year as president-elect, one year as president, and one year as a consultant to the TMHCA board.

In his new role, Dr. Lucies will be responsible for organizing board meetings, organizing the association's yearly conference, mentoring board members, consulting on ethical issues, public speaking, and advocacy. Specifically, Dr. Lucies hopes to work toward refining the LPC (language) LPC - A variant of C designed ca 1988 to program LP MUDs.  licensure title in Texas to better reflect the roles of mental health counselors. He also plans to work toward increasing membership (especially among graduate students), and create opportunities for all members to become involved within the association.

It's my goal to do everything I can to help them be more effective in their work, and ultimately better serve their patients," Dr. Lucies said. "What I have learned in my role as a faculty member at Capella University proved to be instrumental in helping me achieve this position."
