Capcom Entertainment Names L. Gregory Ballard as President; Newly-Named Consumer Products Group Poised for Second Decade of Leadership in Game Software; Appointment of New Senior Management, Diversification of Product Line and Development of Cutting-Edge Game Software Keeps Capcom at the Forefront.


SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 20, 1995--In a strategic move that cements its continued leadership in interactive entertainment, Capcom Co., Ltd., today announced the appointment of Mr. L. Gregory Ballard as president of its newly-named, U.S.-based consumer products arm, now known as Capcom Entertainment, Inc. The arrival of Mr. Ballard and unveiling of a new corporate name mark the beginning of a dynamic new decade for Capcom -- a leader in game software since 1985 -- whose ever-expanding role in technology-driven entertainment has empowered it to seize a wealth of new opportunities on the digital horizon.

In his new post, Mr. Ballard will be responsible for charting the strategic direction of Capcom Entertainment, Inc., where he'll oversee sales, marketing, licensing, and distribution of Capcom game titles and original properties. He will also work closely with the company's new Digital Studio, which supports a talented team of over 40 game designers, artists, and programmers who are committed to developing the most compelling, cutting-edge, entertainment software for Capcom's vast consumer market.

As Capcom Entertainment's president, Ballard will also serve on the board of directors of the Interactive Digital Software Association, of which Capcom is a charter member.
